Ajaccio is the nearest airport to Cargèse and is connected by several daily flights to Paris and other European cities.

The meeting will start monday at 8:45 AM and end friday afternoon, but the Cargese Institute (IESC) is reserved to us from sunday afternoon to saturday noon. We will organize buses from Ajaccio airport to Cargese on Sunday and from Cargese to Ajaccio airport on friday and saturday. Details on the bus time schedules will be provided later in September, once the Institute staff know the date/place of arrival of all the participants to optimize the size/schedule and number of shuttles. For the early / late arrivals, we will organize  shared taxis. A ride between Ajaccio airport and Cargèse costs approximately 100 EUR for normal transfer and 120 EUR for early, late and non-working-day transfer. The ride takes one hour.

It is also possible to take a bus from the city of Ajaccio to Cargèse.  These buses leave from Ajaccio Gare Routière. There are shuttles that connect the airport with the “Gare Routière”.

You might want to consider renting a car and driving to Cargèse. In this case, be aware that the roads on the island are very winding and thus do not expect an average speed above 40 km/h. This also applies if you plan to fly to another airport in Corsica and then drive to Cargèse.
